Theres alot to be said about cliche/general statements.
We hear the statement. It is a new and novel thought. We add this new perspective into our lives.
After some experience, we find things just aren't that simple. The statement cannot possibly account for all the complexity.
Finally, after much more experience, we understand where the statement comes from. We may have even misunderstood the implications behind the statement in the first place. It may not account for the complexity, but it is the theme from which all the complexity flows from. |

these irish people are going to turn me racist. I've been expecting a package, and I got suspicious when a week passed and I saw no sign of it. I walk by the dining room today only to see the package on the table ripped open and empty. Unbelievable. Not only does this fucker steal my shit, but also has the audacity to leave the package out in the open with the packing slip just lying on the table. So this person took my shit and stole it right in my own house. I'm fucking stunned by how ridiculous this is. This dude isn't afraid I'll pass by and see this?! |

the comics are absolutely amazing. I read them all again, and they still ring true, possibly the most intelligent comic I've read. Allows me to fully connect my adult and childhood. |

| on validation seeking behavior |
[Feb. 17th, 2009|12:27 pm] |
notes on some characters I've met
there's this guy I know, who seeks too much validation in his communication. He's always telling people how awesome or clever the things he does is, rather than letting the product speak for itself. He'll make comments on how much effort he's put in, because he's insecure without someone's praise. He's always seeking approval in his actions or thoughts. He'll state his position, then follow up with some variation of "right? / am i right?" After succeeding in some game, he'll ALWAYS hold his hand up for the high five. Half the time he'll be left hanging.
What's ironic is that in his search for validation, he is often losing it. His personality is far too self serving and he could talk to a mirror and have the same conversation and interaction he has been having. |

| accepted! |

I was accepted into both my research lab and the social committee position in Asian American Association!
man for some reason i was really worried about that social committee position over the lab. ?_? During the interview, I had to carry a bus prop around and attempt to pick up people walking down the main campus. Let me tell you, the percentage of people who want to ride a fake bus in the middle of their day is fairly low, but thank god there were some nice ones.
Anyways, this semester is going to be a lot of work, but a blast! |

| Porn interrupts Superbowl |

Holy shit! lol.
Basically, right after Fitz makes the touchdown to put the game at 23-20 Arizona, the picture goes out, and the viewers were treated to a guy getting his pants unzipped, then he waves his penis around. The picture then changes back to the game.
How ridiculous is it that it happens to be in the Cardinals home state right after a touchdown is scored? Think about the families turned to the game, and the super bowl parties. People straight up ecstatic after Arizona takes the lead, and a huge penis shows up on screen.
Ted:"Bob, quick, turn the tv to the game, Arizona scored and took the lead!!" Bob:"Ok ok, I'm turning to the...it's a penis. Fuck you Ted." |

if you haven't seen some of the news on jeremy lin, google and take a look. he's lighting up bball at harvard. props to him for doing his thing, showing that asians can get into the game. who knows, maybe newer generations will be inspired by him to pursue things that break the asian stereotype. good luck to him. |
