im a clothing nerd now. sigh. also the sweetest thing ive gotten.

So my chair semester just ended and I had to say goodbye to the committee I put together. I told them all before that something I was sad over was that I didn't have the time to read books I loved, whether it be a classic or a new one. So for my End of the Semester Gift, they all bought their favorite book and wrote me a note in it. Knowing that you had such an impact, I've never felt so touched in my life.

styleforum has been the rape of my wallet this past month.

completely tore apart and rebuilt wardrobe. I'm nearing the 1k range already.

I've become completely enamored with Americana. The mix of preppy/workwear/traditional/military in a modern fit is amazing. The culture is romantic (you look at a picture and fall in love with what it entails, although it may be not representative of the time)
I've come to appreciate the timeless. Much like how the barcelona chair is a timeless piece of furniture, men's style has rotated around and around several classic styles. Things like the m65, the shawl collar cardigan, the button down, the jack purcell.

my current online reads:

acontinuouslean.com
jake davis blog
sartorialist
style forum

my current list + planned add ons for my own reference

Bottom:
3sixteen raw indigo selvedge straight leg
retiring the 511's
to add: Imperial "Duke"

need to get (Khaki , White), as well as some

shirts:
4 jcrew button ups
Mister Freedom Chambray off-duty utility
jcrew Herringbone utility workshirt

to get: jcrew red chambray, Band of Outsiders white oxford, flannels/color plaid, any interesting button down patterns (tartan/gingham/solid...allgood)

outerwear:
Wings+Horns organic cardigan
Wings+Horns Tiger Fleece hoody
Jcrew utility jacket
3sixteen Hooded pinstripe blazer
jcrew halfzip lambswool
jcrew merino wool crewneck

to get: my current grail piece
wings+Horns mk2 wool field jacket :

http://giftguide.complex.com/2009/style-sneakers/wings-horns-melton-wool-mk2-field-jacket
some v neck sweaters / lighter cardigans
baracuta g9 slimfit

shoes:
white leather jack purcells
white authentic vans (which i no doubt will absolutely destroy again...i give up on vans after these)
to get: clarks desert boots, some decent wingtips, maybe some black purcells, maybe some boat shoes for the summer?

accessories to get:
belts
some knit ties / skinny ties
ray ban aviators
military strap watch
a belstaff bag (drool, but 300-700 range =[)

my tribute to my car

so my accord got into an accident. My mom told me some dude rear ended the car, causing it to smash into the car in front to. She's alright, but she told me the car is a goner. I just started being able to drive the damn thing again too. ahh well. I dunno what car I'd have it replaced with. my dream would be to buy a used evo 8. but then i realized i dunno what the fuck i would even do with a lan evo. just more daily driving.

Reminded me of that time I got caught in the accident before the PSATS started. When I was in that car spinning on the 101, I honestly thought my life was going to end. Coming out of that I wanted to ride a bicycle for the rest of my life. shit is scary.

these irish people are going to turn me racist. I've been expecting a package, and I got suspicious when a week passed and I saw no sign of it. I walk by the dining room today only to see the package on the table ripped open and empty. Unbelievable. Not only does this fucker steal my shit, but also has the audacity to leave the package out in the open with the packing slip just lying on the table. So this person took my shit and stole it right in my own house. I'm fucking stunned by how ridiculous this is. This dude isn't afraid I'll pass by and see this?!

on validation seeking behavior

notes on some characters I've met

there's this guy I know, who seeks too much validation in his communication.
He's always telling people how awesome or clever the things he does is, rather than letting the product speak for itself. He'll make comments on how much effort he's put in, because he's insecure without someone's praise.
He's always seeking approval in his actions or thoughts. He'll state his position, then follow up with some variation of "right? / am i right?" After succeeding in some game, he'll ALWAYS hold his hand up for the high five. Half the time he'll be left hanging.

What's ironic is that in his search for validation, he is often losing it. His personality is far too self serving and he could talk to a mirror and have the same conversation and interaction he has been having.

I was accepted into both my research lab and the social committee position in Asian American Association!

man for some reason i was really worried about that social committee position over the lab.
?_? During the interview, I had to carry a bus prop around and attempt to pick up people walking down the main campus. Let me tell you, the percentage of people who want to ride a fake bus in the middle of their day is fairly low, but thank god there were some nice ones.

Anyways, this semester is going to be a lot of work, but a blast!

Porn interrupts Superbowl

http://www.azstarnet.com/sn/fromcomments/278448.php

Holy shit! lol.

Basically, right after Fitz makes the touchdown to put the game at 23-20 Arizona, the picture goes out, and the viewers were treated to a guy getting his pants unzipped, then he waves his penis around. The picture then changes back to the game.

How ridiculous is it that it happens to be in the Cardinals home state right after a touchdown is scored?
Think about the families turned to the game, and the super bowl parties. People straight up ecstatic after Arizona takes the lead, and a huge penis shows up on screen.

Ted:"Bob, quick, turn the tv to the game, Arizona scored and took the lead!!"
Bob:"Ok ok, I'm turning to the...it's a penis. Fuck you Ted."

Searched up "bands similar to Keane, the killers, snow patrol" The song I was looking for was "Soul meets Body" by Death cab for cutie. The phrase that was on the tip of my tongue was "melody softly soaring through my atmosphere"

Meta edit: btw if you haven't heard Baba O'riley (also known as teenage wasteland) by The Who, go give it a listen. gets you pumped up =]. ok i need to get back to my essay now.

I honestly think I'm about to get raped by my anatomy lab midterm.

Maybe it's just that last minute panic that I can't instantly recognize something.

Or maybe I'm just fucked.

Here's something I learned.

Ligamentum Arteriosum - Leftover from the fetal development of the heart.
It is a Nonfunctional Vestige. I.E FUCKING USELESS. Thanks for giving it such a long name.

EDIT: So I took it and it wasn't too bad. I was doing insane on the heart sections. Trabaculae Carneae, BAM! And that shit i just posted about, they tested it. Surprise. What is this ligament right here, Oh its the useless ass ligamentum arteriosum. This goes to show that memorization classes test you on eclectric shit just to weed out the people who think they can get by by studying the basics. But, I got raped on Histology, which I always never devote enough time to.

anatomy lab is fucking hard. I couldn't recognize tissues for shit on the test. I kept blanking. I need to spend more time in open hours just looking at that shit all day. Pretty sure I spend equal amounts of time with dead bodies as I do with living people now.
